Bourbon Street Sloppy Joe's

Heat oil in a large skillet with straight sides or a Dutch oven. Add the bell peppers, garlic and onion; sauté until tender, about 3 – 4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Add the ground beef to the vegetables. Stir and cook about 8 minutes, until the meat is no longer pink and is fully cooked.

Add tomato sauce, tomato paste, ketchup, Worcestershire, cumin, and Bourbon into the skillet. Stir and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Serve on rolls.

3 onions
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp. olive oil
1 green bell pepper (chopped)
2 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 red bell pepper (chopped)
Salt and fresh black pepper
2 lbs. ground beef
1 29–oz. can tomato sauce
1 8–oz. can tomato paste
1 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp. red wine vinegar
1 cup Bourbon
4 crusty rolls, split and toasted
1 tsp. cumin
